Sir Grout, the 57-unit hard surface restoration and maintenance franchise, is targeting New York City for additional franchise growth. With four Sir Grout owners already established in the state, brand awareness is strong, and the concept has proven success in the area. Now, it is looking to add additional locations in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan.

“There is a quality customer base in these areas,” explained Kieran Scott, president of Growth Brands. “Homes are appreciating in the markets, and we’re successfully targeting households in higher-income neighborhoods.”

Scott also explained that the architecture within New York City positions Sir Grout to succeed.

“In New York City, everything is vertical, and that’s harder to construct,” he said. “Often in these markets, people look to do restoration and enhancement projects rather than full tear-outs and re-installations. It’s cheaper and easier for homeowners and other building managers to keep an existing backsplash, for example, and allow us to restore it than it is to tear it out, send it 500-plus feet down to ground level then dispose of it.”

The population density of the city lends itself to a high concentration of business opportunities. In addition to this, Sir Grout’s multiple services allow owners to market to a common customer base and continue to provide services to meet customers’ ever-changing needs.

In addition to grout and tile restoration, a key driver of Sir Grout’s growth, franchise owners also offer:

  • Stone restoration, including cleaning, honing, polishing, color enhancement and sealing
  • Slip resistant applications, such as Slip Armor, are meant to help reduce the risk of slips and falls on wet floors or on other slippery surfaces such as tubs, showers and pool areas
  • High durability coatings, including the application of MicroGuard, an all-in-one hard surface finish that protects tile, stainless steel, concrete, epoxy painted floors, stone, slate and more

“There is a very positive business opportunity for entrepreneurs looking to enter the enhancement space. Not only are they easier to execute than complete replacements, with the economy being a little shaky at the moment, more and more people are choosing enhancements for the sake of affordability,” Scott said. “The work has been done — we have an amazing brand, great franchise owners and strong training programs. The market is favorable, we’ve been around for decades and franchise owners who join now are in a great position to succeed.”

The estimated initial investment required for a Sir Grout business ranges between $121,830 and $182,710. For more information, visit https://franchise.sirgrout.com/.
