Speedy Patch Drywall Repair Wraps 2022 with Momentum as it Prepares to Open its First Franchise Location in Q1 2023
After seeing 25% growth in 2022, the emerging drywall repair franchise is gearing up to open franchise locations in Ohio and Tennessee early in the year.
COLUMBUS, OH - Speedy Patch Drywall Repair, the emerging drywall repair franchise, had an exciting year of growth as it prepared to expand its footprint throughout the U.S. By leveraging its low-cost franchise opportunity, the brand has attracted its first franchisees looking to make the most of the booming home services industry.
“Getting started this year with becoming a franchisor was monumental,” said Christian Cagle, Speedy Patch’s CEO and co-founder. “We’ve experienced so much demand for this franchise opportunity from both experienced and aspiring franchisees. We plan to work very closely with our franchise owners to ensure their success, and we’re very much looking forward to getting the ball rolling in 2023.”
In 2022, Speedy Patch saw an increase of about $100,000 in gross revenue. Additionally, the company saw a 20-25% growth rate compared to a year prior. On average, there was a sales increase from about $1,250-$1,400 in sales per job to $1,600.
And the brand is not slowing down anytime soon. In the first quarter of 2023, Speedy Patch plans to sign on its first two franchisees, with the first being in its home state of Ohio. Over the course of the year, the company is aiming to progressively add one new franchisee per month, said Cagle.
One of those franchisees is Ben Bost, a longtime friend of co-founder Evan Cagle. After spending time working with the brand, and going through a career change, Boast decided that Speedy Patch was a great place for him to grow. Now, he is gearing up to start Speedy Patch operations in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Bost says there is a “massive need” for drywall repair services in the area, citing retiring tradesmen and not a lot of younger talent in the service industry. And Bost knows that Speedy Patch will stick out from the competition in the area because the brand works directly with homeowners, adding convenience, speed and professionalism.
“We can be in and out in hours where other companies are taking three or four days to do it,” he said. “Our systems separate us from anybody else in this field. I've given estimates when people ask how long it will take us, and when I tell them it will be done by the afternoon, they're amazed.”
It’s not just Chattanooga that has seen such an increase in demand for Speedy Patch’s services. Already growing year over year, the $506 billion home services industry saw an even bigger boost from the COVID-19 pandemic as people around the world were forced to transform their homes into offices, classrooms, gyms and more. Since then, homeowners have continued to reinvest in home repairs and renovations. Cagle added that the tumultuous housing market has only added more fuel to the fire.
“Homeownership is extremely high right now, but fewer and fewer people are purchasing in this real estate market,” he said. “Those two factors in combination create the perfect conditions for home services to thrive because you’ve got more homeowners than ever before who, rather than seeking an upgrade by purchasing new homes, are reinvesting in their existing homes. They also want to ensure that their home retains its value as interest rates increase, so they have a vested financial interest in repairing leaks, damages and other issues. As a result, we see a huge spike in demand.”
As an emerging franchise, Speedy Patch has wide open white space for new owners around the country to capitalize on this demand. Cagle noted the brand is seeking franchisees in areas such as Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Florida; Michigan; Chicago and more.
“We built our brand on delivering a better service and customer experience than our competitors, so our franchise owners must live up to that,” said Cagle. “If they do, this is absolutely one of the most valuable franchise opportunities available.”
