The rapidly growing Tampa-based franchise recently announced a sale to Oak Hill Capital Partners for $525&nbsp;million.

According to a recent article by the Tampa Bay Times, the brand changes hands while boasting more than 840 locations across the country and employing more than 1,200 in the Tampa Bay area alone.

&quot;What we&#39;ve done is focused on what&#39;s important to them &mdash; outstanding food that tastes really different and has a really differentiated flavor,&quot; Rick Silva, president and CEO of <a href="http://checkers.1851franchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=tampa-bay-times-checkers-rallys-elaborates-on-oak-hill-capital-partner-sale-11403" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Checkers</a>, told the Tampa Bay Times.

The deal will create more jobs in the Tampa Bay area, and the company is set to expand with nearly 70 locations expected to open for the franchise in 2017.
