Mobile apps saw a record number of downloads in the first quarter of the year. According to a recent TechCrunch article, downloads grew by 15 percent to reach nearly 25 billion worldwide across both iOS and Android operating systems.

Consumer spend also grew 45 percent reaching $15 billion across iOS and Android worldwide.&nbsp;

These numbers come from app store analytics firm App Annie which attributes this growth to China&rsquo;s impact and its growth on iOS.
