MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes, the “better burger” franchise based in Texas, is prioritizing new market expansion as it enters the second half of 2021. MOOYAH has been growing rapidly nationwide and shows no signs of slowing down. Most recently, the brand opened locations in Upland, California; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Sacramento, California; Winter Park, Florida; and Colleyville and Abilene, Texas. Now, the Plano, Texas-based company is looking for qualified prospects to help keep this momentum going.
For candidates interested in joining the MOOYAH family, Mike Sebazco, Vice President of Operations and Development, says there are 11 easy steps to becoming a Franchise Owner:
- “Franchise Owners reach out and talk to us about their goals and what they want to accomplish.”
- “If we can accommodate them, we’ll send the FDD. Our Item 19 is completely transparent — we're looking for partners in our business, so we prioritize visibility.
- “We then launch the discovery process. Prospective Franchise Owners come to our headquarters in Dallas, and we vet each other to make sure the partnership will be mutually beneficial. We never pressure anybody into signing — we want this to be the right decision for everyone involved.”
- “If we believe the prospect is a good fit for our brand, we’ll issue a Franchise Owner agreement.”
- “Next, the real estate process begins. We get on the phone with a broker and set up a time for the prospect to visit sites. We can go through the process as quickly as the individual prospect wants. We have an in-house general contractor who prices the sites and then gets a designated general contractor involved. We have all the schematics in place and can provide an architect, equipment supplier, signage vendor, etc.”
- “We make sure prospects never feel alone — we do weekly check-in calls throughout the whole construction process including IT, training, supply chain, local store marketing as well as develop a grand opening marketing plan.”
- “The operations process begins as construction nears completion. We begin gearing up for training, with all of our teams from operations to IT to marketing having their roles to fulfill.”
- “Then it is time for training week. A team comes to the site and works exclusively with the Franchise Owner and his/her Team Members to get them ready for opening.”
- “Next is Friends and Family Day. A soft opening of the restaurant with friends and family.”
- “Congratulations, it's time for Opening Day! Franchise Owners celebrate their grand opening and start their journey.”
- “The training team pulls out and our operations team takes over, conducting on-site visits every 90 days to look at each restaurant’s profitability, health and safety procedures and evaluate whether they are meeting brand standards.”
Looking ahead, the MOOYAH Leadership Team has immediate development plans throughout the states of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, California and Arizona, but also wants to grow in key markets such as Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Tampa, Atlanta, Raleigh, Nashville, Orlando and Richmond.
