The Growth Coach, the small-business coaching franchise with 65 units, has leveraged its updated offerings like enhanced digital marketing capabilities and the launch of a coaching portal into excellent mid-year momentum and has strong strategic plans for the second half of 2023. Following a period of careful evaluation and development, the brand is also poised for significant growth under the leadership of newly appointed Chief Operating Officer, Brad Schneider.

“We have really evaluated the brand over the past year, matching what is happening in the field with our product line, development and support programs,” said Chris Seman, President of Strategic Franchising Systems. “Brad has been instrumental in helping develop that vision of where we want to be in the future.”

Schneider started his career in technology consulting, instructional and marketing communications, and training and development for consulting firms, before moving over to more HR-focused roles. Tired of corporate America, Schneider opened his The Growth Coach operation in May of 2015 in Columbus. Since then, he has not only been expanding his own business, but has also been helping out with the training and operations behind the scenes.

Schneider officially stepped into his role as COO of The Growth Coach at the start of 2023. Today, he manages the operations team and takes care of all coaching support and development, as well as marketing efforts for franchise owners. He also aids in the franchise development process and works to recruit great coaching talent.

The Growth Coach has focused on three main areas during this transition:

Now, with Schneider at the helm, The Growth Coach is looking to focus on franchise growth in the second half of the year.

"We are positioned for significant growth for a couple of reasons," said Schneider. "We have really retooled not just our offerings for new franchisees, but also offerings for existing coaches to take advantage of the modern coaching space and the clients of today. I am a franchise owner myself — I’ve lived it. So I know what a new franchisee or coach needs to differentiate themselves from other brands."

The Growth Coach is aligning its product with current market conditions and the needs of franchise prospects. It is no secret that America’s 28 million small business owners face more challenges than ever today — rapidly-shifting consumer behaviors, labor shortages and supply chain disruptions. The Growth Coach offers franchisees an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of small- to mid-sized business owners in their local market by adding much-needed business coaching and support. This sets The Growth Coach apart as a uniquely rewarding business opportunity, both financially and personally, in the $11 billion business coaching industry.

As an example of this well-positioned franchise opportunity, The Growth Coach saw two coaches, Jeff Roberts and David Yassa, join The Winner’s Circle this year, earning back a portion of their franchise fee after reaching significant milestones in their business.

Looking ahead, The Growth Coach aims to sign 10 or 12 new franchise owners by the end of 2023. The Growth Coach is also excited to help current franchisees who want to expand their territories. Two franchisees who own HR consultancies, for example, have recently engaged The Growth Coach model to deepen their offerings, demonstrating the versatility and value of the brand's methodology.

“In these times of economic uncertainty, many businesses are unsure of how to progress, and they will need our support to weather this storm,” said Seman. “Brad, who is still a fully functioning franchisee interacting with people, and our franchise network work together to ensure we can help our clients advance. We have aligned our products and created opportunities for franchise owners to join us and achieve great success. This is why I am so excited about the future, especially with Brad leading the organization. It marks a new era for The Growth Coach. By taking this next step, we can help small businesses navigate through uncertainty and provide Growth Coach franchisees with a robust business."

The Growth Coach has focused on three main areas during this transition:

  • Enhanced digital marketing capabilities: The brand has created digital marketing partnerships with franchisees to spur growth more quickly. This includes a turnkey option with a dedicated partner, ChoiceLocal, and the resources for franchisees to execute similar programs locally.
  • Launch of a coaching portal: This efficient method for franchises to schedule and manage coaching assignments, sessions and content has been a significant development.
  • Launch of the Strategic Business Mindset process: This service is available through the new portal and is the first of many steps to continue enhancing the brand's product.
