Franchise Opportunity Deep Dive: Tire Pros is a nationwide network of independently operated tire and automotive service centers.

Tire Pros is a national franchise network of independently owned tire and automotive service centers. The brand offers tire sales, installation, maintenance and related automotive services, combining the familiarity of a neighborhood tire shop with national branding and marketing programs. Its franchise opportunity is particularly suited to existing tire dealers interested in joining a larger network while continuing to operate their businesses locally.
Tire Pros has been franchising since 1988, helping independent tire retailers benefit from national marketing programs, manufacturer relationships and operational support while maintaining ownership of their businesses. The network has since expanded across the United States.
In February 2025, Asphalt Tire Pros Francorp, LLC became the brand's franchisor after assuming the existing franchise agreements as part of the restructuring of its parent company, American Tire Distributors.
Mission: Tire Pros aims to make tire shopping and automotive maintenance more convenient by providing dependable products, knowledgeable service and a customer experience built around trust.
Vision: The brand seeks to strengthen its nationwide network of independent tire dealers while helping customers maintain their vehicles and enjoy the freedom of driving.
Tire Pros operates throughout the United States, but availability depends on location approval and market conditions. The franchise agreement does not provide exclusive territorial rights, meaning another Tire Pros location may operate nearby.
Prospective franchisees can inquire about specific markets through the Tire Pros franchise website.
Initial Costs: The estimated initial investment required to begin operation of a Tire Pros franchise ranges from $111,475 to $251,225 for converting an existing tire center and $271,975 to $443,725 for opening a new location. Franchisees purchasing additional locations receive a reduced initial fee of $2,000 for each subsequent center. Qualifying U.S. military veterans receive a 50% discount, reducing the fee to $3,500 for their first location or $1,000 for an additional location.
Ongoing Fees: According to the 2026 FDD, Tire Pros franchisees are responsible for the following ongoing payments and fees:
| Type of Fee | Amount |

ROI Potential: Tire Pros does not make financial performance representations regarding the past performance of its franchised locations or projected future earnings in its FDD. Prospective franchisees should speak with current and former Tire Pros operators to better understand operating expenses, sales performance and potential returns.
Tire Pros provides resources to help new franchisees prepare for their transition into the network. Upon request, the franchisor conducts a local market study examining buyer trends and an operational business analysis comparing an existing business with industry benchmarks.
Franchisees also receive access to brand standards, approved supplier information and a New Dealer Rollout Kit. Tire Pros must approve each franchise location, although franchisees remain responsible for securing their own premises and equipment.
Tire Pros provides New Dealer Onboarding and Program Training, typically within the first 90 days after a center begins operating under the brand.
The program covers Tire Pros' marketing philosophy, product lines, warranty programs and general operating procedures. Franchisees also receive access to the brand's operations manual and information about its required product and warranty programs.
Initial onboarding is included in the franchise arrangement. Additional training programs may involve separate fees.
Tire Pros franchisees receive access to national advertising campaigns, promotional programs and marketing resources. The franchisor reviews proposed advertising materials and administers systemwide promotional initiatives.
The company also offers up to $3,500 in reimbursement for approved branding expenses associated with converting an existing retail outlet, primarily signage, painting and interior displays. The reimbursement is subject to approval and generally must be claimed within the first year.
Franchisees maintain responsibility for day-to-day operations, employee management, customer service and compliance with brand standards.
Tire Pros franchisees must maintain a point-of-sale system capable of communicating with the franchisor's systems and transmitting applicable sales information.
The company does not currently mandate a specific computer hardware or software system, although approved technology suppliers are available. Franchisees can use eligible systems to support inventory management, sales reporting and participation in certain manufacturer incentive programs.
The brand also supports electronic payment processing, including its private-label credit card program, and provides access to digital operating resources.
Tire Pros does not specify any franchisee requirements with regard to liquid assets or net worth.
The franchise model is particularly relevant to existing tire dealers and automotive service operators. Prospective franchisees should have the financial resources to maintain a retail operation, purchase inventory and equipment, manage employees and cover operating expenses.
Previous tire industry experience may be beneficial, but the available franchise materials do not establish a universal minimum experience requirement.
Franchisees are responsible for managing their centers in accordance with Tire Pros' operating standards. This includes staffing, inventory, customer service, required product offerings and participation in applicable warranty programs.
An owner may employ a manager to oversee daily operations, subject to the franchise agreement's management requirements. However, Tire Pros should not be characterized as a passive investment or a confirmed semi-absentee franchise opportunity.
Tire Pros does not offer direct or indirect financing and does not guarantee franchisee loans, leases or other obligations.
“I am amazed at how much effort the Tire Pros team puts into helping dealers do a better job at selling tires and service. Their national conferences are a great example with educational and networking-focused breakout sessions. I was taken aback by the perseverance, forward-thinking insights and work ethic of these men and women. It made me feel proud to be part of such a strong organization.”
- Todd Murrian, Franchisee — Florida
“Being a Tire Pros franchise gives us the presence and exposure to compete against the big box national chains while being able to service our communities with a mom-and-pop attitude and demeanor. The national advertising campaign coupled with joining other Tire Pros stores for local and regional campaigns gives us the ability to reach a much larger advertising market in a more consistent and professional manner than we could attempt on our own. Adding in the warranty coverage that we are able to provide to our customers for peace of mind across the nation makes Tire Pros a no-brainer to join when you’re in the tire and auto service industry!”
- Steven Moss, Multi-Unit Franchisee — North Carolina
The U.S. tire and automotive service industry continues to offer significant opportunities, particularly as Americans hold on to their vehicles longer. The U.S. automotive aftermarket, which includes replacement parts and repair services, is projected to reach $599.7 billion in 2026, up 5.4% from 2025, and grow to $676.5 billion by 2029. The light-duty segment alone is expected to reach $457 billion this year. Tire demand remains substantial, with approximately 278.3 million replacement passenger, light truck and commercial truck tires projected to ship in the U.S. in 2026. And with the average age of American light-duty vehicles reaching a record 12.9 years, the need for ongoing maintenance and replacement tires gives automotive service businesses a sizable customer base.
Tire Pros competes with national tire chains, independent retailers and automotive service franchises. Its primary distinction is a model that allows independent dealers to operate under a national brand while maintaining local ownership.
Major competitors include Discount Tire, Mavis Tires & Brakes, Big O Tires and Tire Discounters.
