United Water Restoration Group (UWRG), an 82-territory premier water restoration and reconstruction franchise, has been making waves in the industry for nearly 15 years. And as extreme weather patterns continue to increase, the company is looking to grow through franchising to meet demand for its services.

The full-service restoration company specializes in water damage mitigation, mold remediation, fire and smoke damage restoration, reconstruction, sewage, flood and disaster response while delivering a best-in-class customer experience to residential and commercial customers.

With increasingly high demand for restoration services, now is the perfect time to become part of this growing market as an independent restoration franchise owner. Here are a few of the ways that UWRG stands out among the competition.

Expertise and Experience

UWRG has been a dominant force in the restoration industry for the last 15 years. Founded in 2007 during one of Florida’s worst hurricane seasons to date, the franchise has helped thousands of home and business owners restore the condition of their most valuable assets after a fire, flood or other natural disaster. Because the UWRG team is full of experts in the restoration industry, franchise owners can rely on collective years of knowledge and experience in the space. The brand also has 13 successful corporate locations.

“A huge competitive advantage for us is that we're still in the restoration space,” said Bob Moore, Vice President of Development & Operations at UWRG. “We're not just selling franchises, we are still in this business. There are things that we learn and that we can pass along to our Franchise Owners.”

Notably, not all restoration businesses use techs certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). However, UWRG exclusively uses IICRC-certified technicians as part of their dedication to integrity, honesty and dependability. This also generates more leads and more complex jobs for Franchise Owners.

Technology and Innovation

To consistently deliver the best experience for customers and Franchise Owners, UWRG is always researching newer, better technologies. For example, the franchise uses a job software called PSA to manage the job process. This platform is completely paperless, ensuring no documentation is lost. Any and all of the forms that a customer signs are automatically emailed to them and updated in the job file.

Much like a ride-share service, such as Uber, customers can see the UWRG truck headed their way and a photo of their technician for peace of mind. UWRG also used an app that plugs in with PSA and allows franchisees to control the workflow of things technicians do, even though the franchisees are not on every job site!

“We've leveraged technology more in the last few years in terms of how our crews operate,” said Moore. “Our job software is now all paperless, so there is no need to lug around clipboards and paperwork to sign. Overall, we’ve gotten better at utilizing technology to streamline the workflow, with those being some of the key areas.”

Customer Service

UWRG’s dedicated focus on its customers sets it apart from the competition. The brand has a deeply embedded customer-first culture that is intentionally spread throughout the organization at all levels. UWRG also prides itself on its level of responsiveness. Help is available 24/7, 365 days a year. No matter the time of day or night, someone will be on call with a fully stocked van ready to go. From the minute a call is received, a team will be assembled and a UWRG team member will be onsite within the hour.

“When our phone rings, people can be frantic because of what's happening in their home or business,” Moore added. “Whoever's on call at night takes home a fully-stocked company vehicle so they can get up and go to wherever the call came in from, no matter the time. They get up and get in the van, and go directly to that location. Our goal is to get there within 60 minutes of the call.”

UWRG Franchise Owners are incredibly empathetic and always focus on the homeowner or business owner that they are serving. They always spend time talking to each homeowner and keeping them informed. “Our Franchise Owners provide an excellent level of service to our customers,” said Moore. “It is what I think helps them gain market share pretty quickly, even in markets where we have a fair amount of competition.”

Reputation

With its simple model, high margins and commitment to integrity, honesty and dependability, UWRG has grown to over 82 franchise territories across the United States. One reason for such growth is the reputation that UWRG has established during its nearly two decades of industry experience.

“The restoration industry does not have a strong track record with regards to having a lot of options for ethical providers,” said Moore. “You have a lot of people doing things in a lot of different ways because they're very small, independent businesses. And unfortunately, some of them are a little unethical as well. So being a reputable provider is one of the gaps that we're filling.”

The total initial investment to open and begin operation ranges from $159,342–$441,874. For more information on franchising, visit https://uwrgfranchise.com/investment-opportunities/.
