I began working in the purchasing organization for Ford Motors. After spending six years with Ford, I transitioned into the oil industry and moved to Texas to join Honeywell Oil and Gas. After spending several years with them, an opportunity presented itself to move to Saudi Arabia. In 2014, my family and I made the leap and moved to Saudi Arabia where we lived until 2020.”&nbsp;Once the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Cobia, like so many others, lost his job, and he decided to move with his family from Saudi Arabia back to Utah to be closer to friends and loved ones. After thinking about what career steps to make during this next moment in his life,&nbsp;he decided he wanted to experiment with building and running his own business, and franchising presented itself as an ideal path.&nbsp;“I’ve been aware of franchising for a while, and it seemed like a viable business option because I’d have ownership in a company while also benefiting from the support of a larger network,” Cobia said. “I started looking into various franchise options and siphoning through models that I thought could withstand a recession and still have value.”Cobia initially focused on the restaurant industry but realized it wasn’t the right option due to the <a href="https://1851franchise.com/1-in-6-restaurants-expected-to-close-in-2020-2713874">challenges of COVID-19</a>.
