The team at VaVia, the 13-unit dumpster rental franchise, had many significant wins in Q3 of this year. VaVia has been staunchly working to build up the brand’s franchise development and experienced some major strides regarding revenue and signings/openings during the quarter.

The company’s revenue has gone up each quarter this year: gross sales grew 14% from Q2 to Q3 and are up 51% since the start of 2022. And one of the most significant accomplishments of the period was that the brand hit $1 million a month in total franchise revenue.

VaVia has been heavily focusing on franchise efforts in Texas and Florida, where the market potential is high. Both are in the top four states for construction spending, according to Statista. And with the number of housing starts jumping 12% in August, the amount of construction continues to grow. Where there is construction, there is a need for a dumpster rental service.

A new multi-unit franchisee started VaVia operations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and another owner opened in Orlando, Florida. VaVia also signed a franchise agreement for the Tampa area during Q3.

“Being that VaVia is only in its fourth year of franchising, this is a tremendous accomplishment,” said Phillip Nappi, president and CEO. “The executive team is thrilled that we are experiencing this momentum and that our franchise system is growing in both size and numbers.”

The momentum VaVia experienced in Q3 will be a great tailwind to help close out the rest of the year. Nappi mentioned that Tampa, Pensacola and Mobile, Alabama franchises are slated to open during Q4, and the brand expects to execute agreements soon for Greenville, South Carolina; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Augusta, Georgia.

The brand has been working with several technology platforms to streamline operations as it grows. VaVia uses Motiv dash cams and the franchise’s proprietary, custom cloud-based logging and tracking systems, called CanTrack, to increase driver productivity. The technology allows franchisees to see where all the trucks and containers are, as well as which drivers are on what jobs. Additionally, the company recently partnered with BoeFly sales and financing platform and is currently onboarding with FranConnect management software.

VaVia looks ahead to the close of the year and continues to push full steam ahead on its franchise development efforts with the help of its new franchise development manager, James Vick

“The successes that we’ve had in franchising so far this year have been superb,” said Vick. “I’m very keen to see where we end the year in terms of getting closer to our goal of 100 franchises by 2026.”
