Atari recently unveiled new wearable technology at San Diego's Comic-Con. According to a recent article in VentureBeat, the company is launching a line of Speakerhats. As the name suggests, these hats have speakers woven into the hats themselves.

In addition to playing music, the Speakerhat features Bluetooth abilities and a 'multiplayer' mode where users can sync hats to play the same audio.

"With the recent reveal of our Ataribox project and now with Speakerhats, we envision a full range of connected personal devices that live at society’s intersection of entertainment, technology, and social connectivity that legendary film worlds like Blade Runner 2049 foretell," said Michael Arzt, the chief operating officer of the Atari Connect division.

According to VentureBeat, the hats are just the beginning of a broader revival strategy for the company. The company will continue to blend pop culture and technology to create products that disrupt the market.
