MEADVILLE, PA — Voodoo Brewing Co., the community brewpub franchise, has been ranked No. 84 on Entrepreneur Magazine’s 2024 Top New & Emerging Franchises. The ranking, which is recognized as one of the most competitive and comprehensive in the industry, was determined based on the franchise’s costs and fees, size and growth, support, and brand strength.

Each year, Entrepreneur accepts submissions of a robust questionnaire and current Franchise Disclosure Documents from franchisors who want to be considered for a spot on the list. The 2024 ranking was the most competitive one yet, with 1,389 franchisors submitting the necessary materials, making Voodoo’s placement even more impressive.

“Voodoo has gained a reputation as a differentiated franchise opportunity because we give our owners more creative freedom to design their own local icon and merchandise, add local cuisine to their menus, while at the same time providing a best-in-class support and menu of beer, cocktails and food,” said Voodoo Chief Marketing Officer Tony Lang. “There are so many people in the general public who think poorly of the franchise model. There seems to be a common expectation of a handcuffed relationship between franchisor and franchisee. We want to be more than that. We’ve always made an effort to partner with our local franchise owners, and I think that has been a key factor in our success.”

Although the brewery itself was founded in 2005, the business really took off in 2012 when brothers Curt and Matteo Rachocki took over its operation in 2012 and began offering franchising opportunities. Over the last decade, Voodoo Brewing Co. has established a strong business model, with an emphasis on local cuisine and events that give franchisees the opportunity to immerse themselves in their communities. This is instrumental to Voodoo’s branding, as it gives each individual pub the opportunity to become a hub for local engagement and enjoyment.

“Entrepreneur Magazine is widely recognized as a resource for entrepreneurs who are shopping around for an investment decision,” said Brent Dowling, a board member of Voodoo Franchise Group. “The Voodoo team is delighted that the core brand values that we share internally — especially community involvement — are not only recognized by other industry professionals, but are borne out by our successful track record.”

Voodoo Brewing Co. saw incredible growth in 2023, awarding over 80 franchises and solidifying its position as a leader in the craft beer industry. This year, the concept aims to continue its expansion selectively, bringing its world-renowned beers and locally inspired cuisine to communities across the nation. In particular, Voodoo is targeting select markets to continue their expansion in 2024 and beyond.
