As a mother of four boys, Anjum saw franchising as the perfect opportunity to combine her entrepreneurial ambitions with a desire for a balanced family life.&nbsp;“I’ve been a stay-at-home mom, but before that, I had a series of jobs and even ran my own cosmetology business,” Anjum said. “My family also owned Subway franchises when I was growing up, and from a very young age, I worked with my parents there. In franchising, people already know about the brand.” The challenge of turning around a store that was underperforming only motivated her further. “The store I purchased was at a challenging phase, but I love challenges,” Anjum said. “Because the store wasn’t doing great, I felt like I had a goal.”Now, Anjum’s initial focus is to revitalize&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ediblearrangements.com/stores/911-montauk--hwy-bayport-ny-11705?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=why-i-chose-an-edible-franchise-hina-anjums-story-2728510" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">the Bayport location</a>, which she took over in late 2024. “The short-term goal was to get the store up and running and bring up our Google rating,” she said. “The long-term goal is to jump on another opportunity and potentially own another location in another area.”For those considering franchising, Anjum offers sage advice. “Picking out a franchise, you have to be sure that you know what you are looking for,” she said. “Are you a people person? Are you more laid back? Do you like customer service? This franchise requires being good at customer service. A lot of people are coming in when they are very happy or are grieving, so you have to be able to share in that. If you want to succeed, that is the main goal.
