Fitness has always been one of Claire Bass&rsquo; passions. All her life, she&rsquo;s made it a priority to stay active and get in a workout at the gym whenever possible. But for a few years, she neglected her normal exercise routine. In order to get back on track, she enlisted the help of a personal trainer.

That trainer opened Bass&rsquo; eyes to the possibility of entering the fitness industry herself. It seemed like the perfect time to break into the business&mdash;the obesity rate was climbing, especially among women and children. But she already has plans to grow with the brand&mdash;ultimately, Bass&rsquo; goal is to open two gyms a year for the next five years. Her oldest son, Alex, is also a partner in the business. So once she successfully opens her 10 planned locations, her plan is to retire and pass the reigns over to him.
