Franchise Deep Dive
USA Ninja Challenge has officially earned a place on 1851 Franchise’s 2026 Fastest Growing Emerging Franchises list — a recognition that highlights brands shaping the future of franchising through innovation, momentum and strong demand. As interest from franchisees continues to climb, USA Ninja Challenge is entering a pivotal phase of expansion.
“2025 was really our breakthrough year in terms of organization and growth,” said Dale Grant, president of USA Ninja Challenge. “This is the year where we set the foundation for everything that 2026 is going to bring.”
History and Origin Story
Founded nearly 10 years ago, USA Ninja Challenge was built around an obstacle-based fitness model designed to help children develop agility, balance and confidence through structured Ninja training. As youth interest in Ninja athletics continued to grow, the brand expanded into franchising, building a national footprint centered on repeatable programming and purpose-driven youth fitness.
“As an Olympic sport, Ninja is going to need a roadmap,” Grant said. “The level system in which we train athletes is going to have to be universalized — and we’re going to be part of shaping that future.”
Why the Franchise Stands Out
USA Ninja Challenge is built around youth athletics and hands-on fitness training, using obstacle-based programs to help kids build strength, confidence and coordination. As interest in Ninja continues to grow ahead of the 2028 Olympics, the brand has focused on strengthening its curriculum while expanding its corporate team to better support franchise owners through training and day-to-day operations.
“We spent a lot of time strengthening our programs, our training and the support structures that allow our franchisees to thrive,” Grant said.
System Growth and 2026 Momentum
In 2025, USA Ninja Challenge awarded 20 new franchise units and opened 11 new locations, growing the system to 46 open gyms nationwide. The franchise entered California for the first time, expanded into the Midwest with new locations in Kansas City, and continued to grow across Texas and the Northeast.
“We now have four locations open in California,” Grant said. “That milestone officially makes us a coast-to-coast brand.”
Why Now Is the Moment for Franchisees
USA Ninja Challenge enters 2026 with a strong leadership team, expanded corporate departments and new franchisee-focused initiatives. In 2025, the brand hired a chief operating officer and chief marketing officer, brought IT and software development in house, added site search and build-out resources, and expanded training support — investments intended to scale alongside franchise growth.
“Getting these people in place helps us stop wearing so many hats,” Grant said. “It allows us to provide better support to franchisees and brings more consistency to our overall growth rhythm.”
Looking Ahead
Heading into 2026, USA Ninja Challenge plans to open 24 new locations and award between 30 and 35 additional units, with multiple openings already scheduled in the first four months of the year. The brand is also increasing its role in shaping youth Ninja athletics nationwide as the sport moves closer to its Olympic debut in Los Angeles.
“2025 was about building,” Grant said. “2026 will be about implementing. We now have the people, tools and structure to elevate this brand to an entirely new level.”
