33,300 Franchise Jobs Added in July

This July, the U.S. added 33,300 private-sector franchise jobs, according to the ADP National Franchise Report. The report asserts that over the past four months franchise job growth continues to be strong. It also shows that franchising is adding to more of the overall job growth for the economy.

Jimmy John’s Facing Boycott Over Big Game Hunting
The Jimmy John’s franchise is currently under fire for owner Jimmy John Liautaud’s enthusiasm for big game hunting. Twitter users have been calling for a boycott of the brand and are using photos of the owner’s trophy hunting adventures along with the hashtag #BoycottJimmyJohns. The new attention to Liautaud’s photos comes on the heels of the well-known Zimbabwe lion Cecil’s death after a Minnesotan dentist killed the lion for sport.

It’s Heating Up at Taco Bell
This week, Taco Bell has introduced their new $1 DareDevil Loaded Grillers. The Grillers come in three levels of spicy including Mild Chipotle, Hot Habanero, and Fiery Ghost Pepper. According to Taco Bell, this is the spiciest the company has gone with their flavors. With the launch of the new Grillers, Taco Bell is asking their social-savvy fans to take the #DareDevilChallenge and share and participate in “dares” on their social pages.

Orange Leaf is Giving Kids Free Fro-Yo for Innovation.
Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt and former NBA MVP Kevin Durant are challenging kids across the country to come up with innovative ideas to improve their communities. Children who accept the challenge and make a difference this month will get three ounces of frozen yogurt for free. The challenge is running through August 31, 2015. After that time, the brand will grant $500 to franchises across the country to implement children’s ideas to improve their communities.

Hungry Howie’s Adds Dessert
The menu at Hungry Howie’s Pizza is becoming sweeter. The franchise brand has announced that they will be adding their first dessert menu item to their lineup. The new chocolate fudge brownie comes with two topping options: salted caramel and chocolate drizzle.
