U.S. Adds 52,500 Franchise Jobs in October
This October, the U.S. economy added 52,500 franchise jobs in the private sector. The ADP National Franchise Report shows that 90 percent of new jobs were added in the Auto Parts & Dealers and Restaurants segment. According to Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and head of the ADP Research Institute, this is the highest number of franchise jobs added since the report was created.


McDonald’s Testing Gourmet Burger in UK
The Big Mac is getting even meatier. McDonald’s has released new, pricier burgers with the thickest patties it’s ever sold in the UK. The brand said that these new burgers in the premium range will have patties that are 30 percent thicker, and in the UK they are made entirely of British and Irish beef and served in black packaging with matching cartons for fries. This comes as the fast food giant is facing competition from trendy burger rivals.

Dunkin’ Donuts Unveils Holiday Lineup
The holidays are running on Dunkin’. The doughnut franchise is brining back three holiday coffee flavors, two new doughnut treats and several stocking stuffers for the holiday season. Customers can enjoy the new Croissant Donut, which featured a glazed croissant doughnut filled with a cookie dough flavored buttercreme and icing and cinnamon streusel topping. In addition to that the brand is also introducing the new Carmel Cheesecake Square, which is a square doughnut with a cheesecake filling, frosted with caramel icing and topped with chocolate caramel candy cups.


Papa John’s sees 11.8% Q3 profit
In the third quarter, the net income increased by 11.8 percent at Papa John’s International Inc. During this time, same-store sales increased in both domestic and international markets. Over the period the net income was 18 million, which is 45 cents a share.


Rosati’s Pizza Names New VP of Franchise Development
Tim McCarthy has been promoted to the position of vice president of franchise development for Rosati’s Pizza. McCarthy led the brand during the largest franchise growth period in over 50 years. With over 17 years in the franchise industry, McCarthy has worked with companies including UPS, Cold Stone Creamery and Re-Bath before joining Rosati’s Pizza.
