As the Millennial generation continues to influence the restaurant scene, more and more franchises are incorporating bold flavors into their menus to capture trends and provide a greater variety and cultural experience.

As reported by Nation’s Restaurant News recently, Indian flavors, spices, and techniques have emerged as a popular trend. According to Datassential MenuTrends, the number of non-Indian restaurants offering an Indian item or flavor has increased by 16 percent over the last four years and a whopping 63 percent over the last nine years. Buffalo Wings & Rings, a growing franchise concept based in Cincinnati, rolled out a brand new LTO menu that featured an Indian-inspired dish, their Wings of Fury.

Buffalo Wings & Rings R&D Chef Elliot Jablonsky told Nation’s Restaurant News reporter Fern Glazer, “We are always looking for bold flavors that are different. With that in mind, curry has been around for a while, and there are a lot of variations, but we wanted to give it our own spin. I tried curry back in 2009 and no one bit at the time. All of a sudden this is really taking off.”

Jablonsky created the wings by using a curry powder dry rub and topping the wings with Sriracha sauce. The Wings of Fury, and the fall LTO menu, will be around as long as supplies last.
