The Pantagraph: Checkers & Rally's Seeks Franchisees In Illinois For Expansion

Checkers & Rally's is planning an expansion throughout Illinois, and is specifically targeting Bloomington and Normal for development. The Pantagraph spoke with Checkers & Rally's Director of Franchise Development Bruce Kim about the brand and their plans for the area.

 

The article mentions that Checkers & Rally's is hoping to bring upwards of 5 locations, and that they are currently seeking franchisees in Bloomington and Normal.

 

“We have 27 stores in Illinois and we feel that is the tip of the iceberg. Our research shows we could put up to five stores in the Bloomington-Normal area and maybe it could be more, but definitely one to start with," Kim said. "We like the Bloomington-Normal area and did a lot of research on the area last fall. It has good schools, good manufacturing, good industry, and the median income is in our target area.”

 

The article also discusses the financial requirements for prospective franchisees.

 

“We have spent a lot of time down there and already had some inquiries, so we have started the process, but these things do take time," Kim said. We have not yet identified any specific sites as to where we would build because that would depend on input from the franchisee.”
