This year, Chick-fil-A has increased its employee scholarship budget to $15.3 million, according to an article by Fox Business. And according to the article, nearly 90 percent of last year’s scholarship recipients said they planned to keep working at the chain while pursuing their education.

“Many Team Members work part-or full-time while also pursuing their education and serving in their communities. Through our Team Member scholarships, our goal is to help these emerging leaders achieve their education dreams and create their own remarkable futures,” Rodney Bullard, vice president of corporate social responsibility said in a statement quoted by the article.

Chick-fil-A has awarded more than 53,000 worker scholarships for a total of over $75 million since 1973, according to the article. Funds available to employees this year are the True Inspiration Scholarship, a $25,000 one-time award for 12 individuals; a leadership scholarship, a $2,500 award given to more than 6,000 employees; and tuition discounts up to 30 percent, available for all 120,000 Chick-fil-A employees around the country.
