Dairy Queen® sees a growth opportunity in the Sacramento region of California and with one franchise already established the brand hopes to continue its success. The company is searching for the ideal real estate and eager well-capitalized franchisees to help expand the brand in the capital area.
Dairy Queen has launched a new restaurant design and encourages future franchisees to adapt to the DQ Grill & Chill® concept, which includes an expanded menu. Jim Kerr, who is in charge of franchisee development at DQ, believes there is great potential and he aims to open one new location in the Sacramento area by the end of the year. He has also considered real estate in Yuba City, Lincoln, Folsom, Roseville and Rocklin.
Kerr tells The Sacramento Bee, “We’ve done a lot of planning to figure out what we needed to do to grow at that kind of pace, and we do have focus areas, but more importantly, we have a high-quality operator with capital and operations experience.”
