Dallas Business Journal: 16 North Texas Cities Rank as Best Places to Open a Restaurant
According to Nerdwallet, the Lone Star State is a wellspring for prospective restaurateurs.
Nerdwallet, a personal finance and information service, recently ranked the nation’s best places for starting a restaurant. With 16 locations specified in the report, the Lone Star State was well represented on the list, especially the North Texas suburbs.
Sara Waskow, owner of FranNet in Dallas-Fort Worth, said the area offers residents affordable and comfortable living options.
“The job market is good here, the weather most of the time is good, the economy is good and housing is priced reasonably,” Waskow said. “More people means more mouths to feed and more opportunities for restaurant growth.”
High income in the region adds to the ranking as Frisco is the highest median annual income of the top 10 cities on the list.
“People with higher incomes have higher-demand careers, so they have less time to cook at home,” Waskow said. “And more discretionary income allows them to go out to eat more.”
