Adweek: KFC Is Now Selling Apparel, Home Goods and a Meteorite Shaped Like a Chicken Sandwich

The limited-edition products and fried chicken apparel are a part of the KFC Ltd. collection.

First, KFC rolled out a robot version of Colonel Sanders. Now, the brand is introducing a new line of apparel and home goods designed to let consumers show off their love for fried chicken.

According to an article in Adweek, KFC launched KFC Ltd., an online merchandise shop packed with limited-edition products and fried chicken apparel. Items available for purchase include a pillowcase with Colonel Sanders on it, “finger lickin’ good jewelry” and a meteorite that they’ve carved into the shape of the brand’s signature “Zinger” fried chicken sandwich. While most items are affordable to purchase—with price tags starting at $8.00—the meteorite is going for $20,000.

This isn’t the first time that a restaurant concept like KFC has introduced its own clothing line—Pizza Hut had its Hut Swag idea last year. However, KFC’s products are more geared towards its specific brand than the fried chicken industry as a whole, whereas Pizza Hut targeted pizza lovers everywhere.

Steve Kelly, KFC U.S.’s director of media and digital, told Adweek, “KFC and Colonel Sanders have been American pop culture icons for more than 70 years. Our fans were craving a way to embrace the fried chicken lifestyle, and KFC Ltd. gives them the opportunity to let their Colonel flag fly.”
