Hodgson attended the <a href="https://franchisespringboard.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=emerging-franchise-color-world-housepainting-sold-almost-60-franchises-in-2019-thanks-to-partnership-with-franchise-fastlane-2712592" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">annual Springboard conference</a>, which caters to emerging franchise brands, in Philadelphia in September 2018 and ended up speaking with Franchise FastLane <a href="https://1851franchise.com/franchisefastlane/franchise-fastlanes-ryan-zink-shares-how-brands-should-be-spending-their-franchise-development-budgets-in-2020-2710963#people">CEO Ryan Zink</a> and President Carey Gille about franchise development.&nbsp;“At the time, I was working with another franchise development company, but I wasn’t super excited with the way things were going,” Hodgson said. “At Color World Housepainting, we wanted to start working with <a href="https://1851franchise.com/franchisefastlane/how-franchise-fastlane-has-impacted-the-development-of-its-partner-brands-through-broker-network-relationships-2711278#brand-latest-stories">a franchise sales organization that had relationships with consultants and brokers</a>. No one wakes up one day and wants to be in the painting business. Color World Housepainting really needed consultants and brokers to pitch the brand and help prospective franchisees look at the economics and realize there is money to be made. I continued to have conversations with Franchise FastLane and ended up hiring them.”&nbsp;What also helped facilitate the relationship is the fact that Franchise FastLane works with service-based brands.&nbsp;“Franchise FastLane understands the service industry and knows how to sell a service franchise,” Hodgson said.&nbsp;Franchise FastLane was certainly impressed with the brand. I was also impressed with the systems he built and the unique opportunity he created in the space.”&nbsp;The two parties signed an agreement in December of 2018 and officially started their relationship in January of 2019.&nbsp;The partnership has paid off big time. Before the partnership, Color World Housepainting had only sold seven franchises. At the end of 2019, Color World Housepainting had sold almost 60 franchises. As of March 2020, Color World Housepainting has sold an additional six franchises thanks to the work put in by Franchise FastLane — and there are plans to sell more locations.&nbsp;“I just think our philosophies are all in line,” Hodgson said. “Plus, Carey and Ryan are just great people, and Color World Housepainting is very excited to continue this journey with them.”&nbsp;The high praise goes both ways.&nbsp;“Tom is incredible to work with and very down to earth,” Geary said. “He is dedicated to other people’s needs and quick to take action and get the right things in place.
