EZ CERT’s New Tracking System Provides Franchise Partners With Real-Time Data Access

To better serve its franchise clients, EZ CERT partnered with risk management technology company JBKnowledge to build its new compliance tracking platform.

After fielding numerous calls from franchise clients seeking up-to-date insight into their insurance compliance data, EZ CERT knew it needed a more current way to deliver information than a standard monthly report. If the company wanted to continue to exist as the leading insurance compliance tracking solution, reinvesting into its technology platform was the clear answer.

“We had a system in place, but it wasn't user-friendly,” EZ CERT President Doug Groves said. “It only existed on our back end, which left our customers in the dark until we generated a monthly report.”

EZ CERT hit the market in search of a technology partner capable of developing precisely what it needed to deliver its franchise clients better access to their data in real-time via a user-friendly platform. The clear-cut answer, Groves said, was JBKnowledge, a risk management technology company that worked with the EZ CERT team to create a customized tracking system that met their every need.

“Our new partnership with JBKnowledge brings the franchisor their compliance data in real time,” Groves said. “Instead of waiting for a monthly or quarterly report, they are now able to look at a daily report and see what the EZ CERT staff is working on. Where our prior computer program had no customer interface, JBKnowledge has helped us bring our customers regular access to the insurance status of each of their franchisees through a dashboard that also displays their overall compliance percentage.”

This 24/7 view of franchisee compliance was exactly the solution EZ CERT was seeking to not only deliver a clients a better view of their data, but to do better work on their behalf. Achieving full compliance is a tedious, layered process, and establishing this new tracking system allows EZ CERT to work more efficiently to make sure each and every franchisee in any given system is fully compliant.

After working with JBKnowledge to make a few tweaks to the now fully-customized platform, EZ CERT began migrating clients onto the new system in late 2018. Groves explained that the process of transferring the existing data from the old system is a tedious process, but the company expects to be fully on the new system by early 2019.

“The new computer system lets us document all insurance components more easily, and it’s exciting to be able to present franchisors with all of their information whenever they want it,” Groves continued. “We teach them the interface so if they happen to be on a call with a franchisee, they can now log in and check the certificates that specific unit has on file, streamlining the complicated compliance process and ultimately, better protecting their business.”

EZ CERT’s main role in working with franchises has always been maintaining the insurance coverage mandated in a brand’s FDD for every location through diligent compliance tracking.
