Facebook has announced that it is committed to becoming a more environmentally friendly business over the next two years. The company has pledged to reduced emissions by 75% and convert all operations to run on renewable energy by the end of that time period.

Facebook said that it is “on track to be one of the largest corporate purchasers of renewable energy” and that the social media giant is “proud of the impact our renewable energy program is having on local communities, and the market in general.”

The company has been incorporating renewable energy since 2013, when it signed its first contract for wind power. It previously aimed to run on 50% renewable energy by 2018. Not only did Facebook reach this goal, it surpassed it.
