The company has pledged to reduced emissions by 75% and convert all operations to run on renewable energy by the end of that time period.

Facebook said that it is &ldquo;on track to be one of the largest corporate purchasers of renewable energy&rdquo; and that the social media giant is &ldquo;proud of the impact our renewable energy program is having on local communities, and the market in general.&rdquo;

The company has been incorporating renewable energy since 2013, when it signed its first contract for wind power. It previously aimed to run on 50% renewable energy by 2018. Not only did Facebook reach this goal, it surpassed it.
