Fox Business: PepsiCo To Buy Probiotic Drinks Maker KeVita

PepsiCo tries to tap health conscious consumers by purchasing health beverage maker company

On Tuesday, PepsiCo Inc announced its purchase of health beverage maker KeVita Inc, reports Fox Business, “in an effort to diversify its soft drinks business and tab health conscious consumers.”

All of California-based KeVita’s two dozen plus flavors of probiotic drinks are gluten-free, vegan and organic.

The Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc also announced that it would purchase Bai Brands LLC, an antioxidant beverages maker. It’s clear that there was a big of competition taking place between the Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc and PepsiCo Inc, seeing as Reuters reported Pepsi was nearing a deal to purchase KeVita just last month.

All these purchases took place only a week after five U.S. cities announced new taxes on sodas.
