(From The Huffington Post) California S.B. 610 is vetoed On Monday California Gov. Jerry Brown vetoed S.B. 610, otherwise known as the “franchise fairness” bill. Gov. Brown said he needed more proof of systemic problems between franchisors and franchisees before considering changing California’s laws that affect the state’s franchise industry or that could make franchising more litigious. (From the Los Angeles Times) Einstein Noah goes private The Einstein Noah Restaurant Group Inc. will be acquired by JAB Holdings Co., for $374 million. This move will take the company private. Einstein Noah is the parent company to Einstein Bros. Bagels, Noah’s New York Bagels and Manhattan Bagels. (From Nation's Restaurant News) Noodles & Co. to host ‘Lucky Bowl’ giveaway This week, Noodles & Company announced it would host an in-restaurant “Lucky Bowl” giveaway, in celebration of National Noodle Day next Monday. The brand is encouraging fans to stop into any Noodles & Company locations for their chance to win free Noodles for a year. Each location will have one grand prize winner. They will also be handing out scratch-off cards to each guest with a purchase of an entrée to win other prizes. (From QSR Magazine) Jamba Juice raising money for National Breast Cancer Foundation This October, Jamba Juice is helping raise awareness and join the fight against breast cancer by supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) with their “Pink Whirl” in-store donation campaign.
