Griswold, one of the nation’s oldest nonmedical home care providers, has expanded to Lakewood, Colorado, marking its 196th location across 31 states.
The new Lakewood & Golden office is owned by Amber Parsons, whose career spans journalism and 13 years in health care staffing. Parsons was driven to open the location after caring for a family member and realizing how few affordable, reliable at-home support options exist for seniors who don’t yet need assisted living but still require help. She noted that families often shoulder the burden of errands, meal prep, housekeeping, companionship and transportation — gaps Griswold aims to fill.
“It was really a personal story, a very deeply personal story with my own family, that made me realize that there is a huge gap in services for our senior community,” Parsons said. “We have [options] for assisted living, those types of things, but I think there is a gap in services for people who maybe need housekeeping, companionship, running errands with them, preparing meals and taking them to appointments. A lot of that burden was falling onto family members.”
To meet growing demand, Griswold is actively hiring Caregivers in the area. Parsons said the team includes seasoned CNAs with decades of experience, but she also welcomes applicants without formal credentials who possess strong service mindsets and warm personalities. Training is available for those who need it, ensuring that caregivers are prepared to deliver the high-quality support Griswold is known for.
