Dr. Jean Griswold launched the business in 1982 as the first franchised home care business. Though it was a tough period, it gave her a chance to think about what she really wanted to do with her life.&nbsp;“Upon reflection about my career as a hairstylist, I realized I had a lot more space in my heart to help people in other ways as well,” she said. “I’m really passionate about supporting people and making them feel better about themselves. And if you can help people remain in their homes rather than a facility, you’re allowing them to maintain their dignity and happiness overall.”Griswold Home Care provides services so that adults can maintain quality of life despite advanced age or onset of illness through services including companion care, home services, personal care and respite care.The Myhres learned about the brand through a friend who is a Griswold franchisee and thought their desire to help people made them the right fit for the brand. Upon that introduction, the husband and wife duo quickly began digging into the brand’s history to learn more.“We decided to sign with Griswold because during our first phone call with the team, they spoke at length to the mission and Dr. Jean Griswold’s story, which made a big impact on us,” said Brett. “A few other franchise companies we spoke with talked about numbers and profit. That didn’t really resonate with us.”In order to get started, the Myhres did a lot of research to immerse themselves with the brand, but they felt they were given the support they needed when they signed on with Griswold. “Having never been involved with a franchise before, this was all new to us,” said Nicole. “Their six-step process was really wonderful.
