More and more franchisees are taking the leap into multi-unit ownership. Is your business ready to support them?

According to Aziz Hashim, Managing Partner of NRD Capital, the demands of multi-unit franchisees are different from those of a single operator. Hashim, who has run multiple units and multiple brands, is also the Chairman of the International Franchise Association. He recently attended the Franchise Relationships Institute Multi-Unit Summit in Sydney, Australia as a keynote speaker.

"As a multi-unit franchisee, often I may have built four or five units in a year—that's very rapid growth. So the kind of support I would need in terms of opening or real estate and construction support are the things that the franchisor has to have for us. Otherwise, it doesn't work," Hashim said.

In a recent interview with Franchise Business, Hashim offered some advice on providing support for multi-unit franchisees.
