Jen Olson Joins Home Clean Heroes Team as the Vice President of Development

The franchise industry veteran is looking to double the residential cleaning franchise’s footprint after a record-breaking quarter.

Home Clean Heroes, the Virginia Beach-based residential cleaning franchise, is on the cusp of explosive franchise growth. In Q2 of 2021, the brand saw a 30% revenue increase, 195% increase in services performed and has already signed four new owners so far this year. Now, to keep up with the demand, Home Clean Heroes has expanded its franchise development team with the addition of franchise industry veteran Jen Olson as the Vice President of Franchise Development for the brand.

Olson is a Michigan State University graduate with almost 20 years of experience in franchise development. She has worked with brands of all sizes, including Regis Brands (Supercuts, Pro Cuts, Roosters) and most recently NOW Massage. She is also no stranger to the home services industry, having held leadership roles for service brands like Mr. Handyman and 1-800-DryClean, among others.

“Even before starting my own career in franchising, I came from a franchising family,” said Olson. “My dad was also a franchise development executive, and my mom owned a residential cleaning franchise business herself. So, my career is  a natural extension — the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.”

After working in franchising for nearly two decades, Olson says she built quite a large network of contacts, one of which happened to be Kevin Wilson, CEO of Buzz Franchise Brands, parent company of Home Clean Heroes. The two stayed in touch for years, and when Wilson called up Olson at the start of 2021 and asked her to join the team, she said she knew the time was right.

“There were a couple of things that really attracted me to Home Clean Heroes,” said Olson. “I was very familiar with the residential cleaning segment because of my mom’s business, and I thought it’d be a great full circle moment to go back to that industry. Also, it was clear the brand also stood out in the segment — it is a brilliant business model, and Buzz Franchise Brands offers strong resources, processes, training and more.”

Additionally, Olson says the well-positioned nature of the Home Clean Heroes model following the COVID-19 pandemic was another big selling point. Even with a vaccine rollout and pandemic recovery, millions of Americans are making plans to stay home long term, creating a more permanent need for cleaning services, an industry that is already poised to generate $900 million in revenue this year alone.

“I saw how important these home-based service businesses are to consumers, especially with the mindset around cleanliness, keeping homes safe and working from home,” she said. “That need is going to continue for many years to come, and I knew Home Clean Heroes was set to grow alongside it.”

Now, as the vice president of franchise development, Olson says she is responsible for all fran-dev related activities, such as qualifying new leads when they come in, finding the right candidates, taking them through a detailed discovery process, signing the franchise agreement, onboarding and more.

Looking ahead, Olson will utilize her in-depth franchising experience and connections to continue growing the Home Clean Heroes footprint, with the goal of doubling the current ownership count within the next six to 12 months.

“Our pipeline is looking better than ever,” said Home Clean Heroes president Joe Delatte. “We are thrilled to have Jen on the team and are confident she will help us bring the Home Clean Heroes name to communities across the country. 2020 was a breakout year for us, and we’re going to use that momentum to take us to the next level.”

The startup costs for a Home Clean Heroes single-unit franchise ranges from $97,924 to $120,037. To learn more about franchising with Home Clean Heroes, visit http://homecleanheroesfranchise.com.
