What do you want us to know?Brian Maroney: I had a couple of retail stores before getting into franchising, but once my children were born, I started looking for something more fulfilling. I explored different business opportunities and came across an article about home care. The more I researched, the more I realized the potential impact.I met with a few different senior care franchises, but the people at Right at Home really made the difference. I opened my first Right at Home franchise in 2009 near Atlantic City. When the Cherry Hill location became available, it was the perfect fit — right in between my existing territories and in the same community where Chris and I both live.Chris and I had known each other for years through Right at Home. We take an annual trip with the franchise each January, and my wife and I got to know Chris and his wife, Maria, really well. Four or five years ago, we started discussing the possibility of buying this business together. When the opportunity finally came up, teaming up was an easy decision.Chris Campbell: My passion for senior care comes from my own experiences growing up. I watched my parents take care of my grandmother, and I also saw my aunts and uncles struggle to manage my other grandmother’s care as she developed Alzheimer’s. I saw firsthand how challenging it can be for families.I had a mentor who introduced me to the senior care industry and mentioned Right at Home. It immediately felt like the right fit — it was a way to relieve a huge burden for families going through what mine had experienced.Before joining Right at Home, I spent 10 years in pharmaceutical sales. After being laid off, I decided to take control of my career. I opened my first Right at Home location in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, in 2005, and I’ve never looked back.1851: What was your perception of franchising prior to becoming a franchisee, and what do you want people to know about franchising now that you are in it?Maroney: My first experience with franchising was in the custom art and framing industry. That brand was eventually sold to venture capitalists, and I watched the quality decline, which gave me a bad impression of franchising.But when I started looking into Right at Home, I couldn’t find any reasons&nbsp;not to do it. Knowing that we’re providing essential services for people right here where we live makes this even more meaningful.1851: What is the one thing about your story you want us to know?Campbell: We see this as our final expansion. At this stage in our careers, this is the last big business move we plan to make.We both have two sons, and while we aren’t pressuring them to join the business, we do hope that one day they’ll see the value in what we do and consider stepping in. This is a business that allows you to give back in a profound way, and if they ever want to be part of that, we’d love to pass it down to them.1851: What advice do you have for other people thinking about becoming a franchise owner?Campbell: Don’t be afraid to take the leap. Franchise businesses tend to have much higher success rates than independent startups. I had been with the same architectural firm for 20 years,” Kay said. “Tim was tired of the corporate demands, traveling and wanted to be home more. He also wanted to be doing something that would be rewarding and help in our community — the community where we raised our two sons. I was already trained administratively and had worked in marketing for both the architectural firm and for a local mayor. So, my community connections were very strong in this area.”Their complementary skill sets have proven invaluable. A U.S. Air Force veteran originally from Michigan, Tim brought strong operational and leadership experience from his years managing retail teams. The other small percentage is only due to Tim’s knowledge of certain handyman jobs and mine would be administrative questions regarding invoicing or payroll.”That united front has helped them build a loyal team and a strong reputation throughout Yorktown and the surrounding Peninsula communities. “Our client base is strong because we provide our customers with a good service at a great value, and it is continually growing,” Kay said. “Our employees are happy to be a part of our team and we are sure all of them would stay with or continue with any new owner, whether it be family or someone new.”<h2>Building a Family Legacy</h2>After more than 10 years in business, the Diemonts have watched TruBlue grow from a small emerging concept into a&nbsp;<a href="https://1851franchise.com/trubluehomeserviceally/trublue-accelerates-growth-in-2025-with-record-breaking-midyear-momentum-2730055">nationally recognized brand</a>.
