McDonald’s is revving up to enhance its breakfast and McCafé offerings, starting with a refresh on the brand’s packaging, logos and a new tagline: “Good is Brewing.” Debuted in 2009, McCafé gave McDonald’s customers a chance to order something other than the arguably iconic black coffee loved by grumpy dads the world over. The brand also introduced all-day breakfast nationwide in 2018and tested McCafé Donut Sticks earlier this year.

Despite these expanded offerings, Nation’s Restaurant News reported that McDonald’s is still underperforming during breakfast hours. Linda VanGosen, McDonald’s vice president of menu innovation, said, “Over the years, we’ve been focused on elevating the McCafé experience – from adding more choices, evolving the in-restaurant experience and broadening accessibility to this important brand. This latest update is a natural evolution of the steps we’ve taken to modernize the brand experience and deliver growth.”

The new design features golden yellow cups and brown and yellow packaging that are approachable, modern and hip. Will this chic new look begin to bridge the gap between hip millennial and Gen Z  consumers and lifelong McDonald’s devotees? Only time will tell, but it famously worked for other brands beloved by dads, Miller Lite and Old Spice. Read the full story here.
