Their history with&nbsp;<a href="https://1851franchise.com/meltingpot/info">Melting Pot</a> runs deep. For Daina, the restaurant was&nbsp;the go-to place for celebrations with her children. Jonathan, who grew up in Europe and had a Christmas Eve tradition of eating fondue, loved Melting Pot just as much.As Daina and Jonathan’s relationship evolved from friendship to romance, they found themselves spending quality time together at their local Melting Pot. When they decided it was time to bring the entire blended family together for the first time, Melting Pot was the obvious choice.&nbsp;“When my kids were young, Melting Pot became a tradition very early,” Daina said. “For every birthday, Melting Pot was my kids’ number one choice, so it became a big staple for us. When Jonathan and I started dating, it was a natural progression to introduce him to our family traditions, and we all started going together. Even before exploring franchising, we knew the brand very well and loved it so much.”Because the brand had become such a pivotal part of the Reeves’ lives, they were sad to learn their local Melting Pot would be closing and almost immediately jumped into action.“I tend to have ‘wild’ ideas all the time, and many of them don’t go anywhere,” Daina said, “so I didn’t tell Jonathan when I first reached out. I searched ‘Melting Pot franchise’ and sent an email, and to my surprise, I got a response within 15 minutes.”With this, Daina decided to tell Jonathan. “At first, he thought I was crazy, but after a week, he was completely on board,” she said. “You would even think it was his idea!”For them, the decision was about much more than preserving the family traditions. While that was an important part of the journey, it also presented an opportunity for Jonathan’s son, Joshua, to get involved.“As a culinary school graduate, we thought this would be a great path for him,” Jonathan said. “We wanted to turn this into a true family experience and environment.”Now, as they prepare to open their New Haven location this year, the Reeves see their venture as a natural extension of their own love story. They’re particularly excited about helping other couples and families celebrate each other.“It’s not just about food; it’s about the entire experience,” Daina said. “We want to help people make the most of their special moments together.”“What’s special about Melting Pot is that it’s slow and steady — an event,” Jonathan said. “You can really participate in an intimate moment together, enjoy the various courses, and engage with the people you’re with.
