Currently, Melting Pot has nearly 100 locations, only one of which is in Canada. The restaurant in Edmonton, Alberta, has been open for more than a decade by a franchisee who was a longtime customer of the brand.&nbsp;Operating a Melting Pot franchise entails a $45,000 one-time investment, along with an annual 5% royalty fee and a 1.19% marketing fee. The brand's appeal lies in its unique fondue experience, which draws guests not just for food but for an interactive dining experience shared with friends and family. Melting Pot’s limited menu focuses exclusively on fondue, offering guests a choice of dipping meats, breads or vegetables in cheese or chocolate, creating a communal experience that goes beyond merely satisfying hunger.While the franchise is targeting other major Canadian cities for expansion, Johnston says the current focus on Vancouver is being driven by the success of Melting Pot’s three locations in Seattle. Additional site selections are also underway in Portland, Oregon, as part of the brand’s focus on large metropolitan areas or city suburbs, where a dense population better supports the fondue-centric concept.To further boost brand awareness in the U.S., Melting Pot recently began selling its cheese fondue sauce in grocery stores.
