Melting Pot — the legendary fondue franchise focused on expanding the number of restaurants across the country, aiming to reach 125 by 2026 — is now enlisting the aid of current franchisees in the effort. And it’s offering big incentives for help.

The Florida-based brand recently announced two programs for current franchisees: The Franchisee Incentive Program targets current franchisees in its system who are ready to expand, while the New Franchise Referral is designed to use its franchisee network to bring new investors into the mix.

“We like to say that Melting Pot is a franchise like no other, and that’s true,” said Shak Turner, senior director of franchise development. “But it’s not just the concept that sets us apart. It’s the people who truly bring the magic. So as we continue to grow our brand, we believe it only makes sense to start that effort with the people closest to us, our current franchisees.”

Franchisee Incentive Program

For current franchisees of Melting Pot who have always dreamed of growing their fondue empire (or at least adding a second location), there probably has never been a better time. Melting Pot will waive the $45,000 initial franchise fee for a single store. Additionally, the franchisee will pay reduced royalties on that location for the first two years of operation.

Not only is that a huge leg up for current Melting Pot franchisees who want to grow their business, but it also demonstrates the faith and commitment that Melting Pot has for its franchise family.

“We already know that our franchisees are the heart and soul of Melting Pot,” Turner said.  “Current franchisees understand the brand better than anyone. That’s why we want to do everything we can to help them grow their businesses with us. Their success is our success.”

New Franchisee Incentive Program

Melting Pot has crafted up a program for new franchisees as well. These incentives slash up-front fees and royalties through the first three years while advancing the brand’s expansion efforts.

Melting Pot offers its New Franchisee Incentive Program to qualified new franchisees who enter into a franchise agreement to develop, own and operate a new restaurant on or before Dec. 31, 2021. Under the new program’s terms, the initial franchise fee is cut in half — from $45,000 to $22,500 — with reduced royalties for year 1 at 3% and year 3 at 4%.

New Franchise Referral

Existing franchisees who are not ready to expand their business just yet can also benefit from the franchise incentives. By referring a qualified franchise candidate, current franchisees can earn $25,000 if that candidate signs a franchise agreement and opens a new franchise within one year.

The program is designed to harness the networks of current franchisees.

“We know that many of our current franchisees came from talking to other franchisees,” Turner said. “Whether they were delighted customers or friends or family members who saw the success a loved one had with Melting Pot, personal referrals remain a powerful development tool for the brand. We also believe that our franchisees should be rewarded for helping to bring these people forward.”
