For the month of September, the Williamsburg, Va., MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes* will be donating 1% of their sales to No Kid Hungry in order to help combat childhood hunger. This partnership is being celebrated nationwide, and MOOYAH has set the goal of raising $50,000 for the organization this month.

The Dine Out for No Kid Hungry campaign began in 2008. Today, 8,000 restaurants participate. With over 310,000 children living with food insecurity in Virginia alone, NKH rep Diana Hovey says that the resources are food are out there, the issue is "connecting those kids, providing access...to those resources."

No Kid Hungry is a program run by Share Our Strength. They aim to educate "families in preparing healthy meals on a budget, helping school districts provide breakfast and working with local organizations to provide meals after school or during summer."

The partnership was natural for MOOYAH because giving back is a part of the company's culture, says Dick Ren, area consultant for the brand.

Residents can support the cause by dining at MOOYAH through September 27th.
