MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes, a fast-casual, “better burger” chain, is ready to give taste buds in The Buckeye State a reason to rejoice. MOOYAH’s Rocky River location, which opens on July 28, 2015, marks the first for the national brand in the state and will be located at 19815 Center Ridge Road.
The debut location is owned and operated by Jay Patel, who has been a restaurateur and entrepreneur for many years despite being 32 years young.
“Cleveland is a very family-oriented place, and the MOOYAH brand creates a great family-friendly environment and a great place for people to share a meal,” said Patel. “I’m excited to officially offer the community this better burger option.”
At the age of 14, Patel moved with his family from India to Harrisburg, Pa. and fell under the wing of his uncle, who quickly became his mentor in life and eventually business. Patel’s uncle was a Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee and it was there that he got involved with the franchising industry. After graduating from Cleveland State University with a major in information systems and business administration, Patel opened his first business, an Indian restaurant in Cleveland.
“I’ve truly been able to live The American Dream,” said Patel. “I’m looking forward to moving along this new path with the MOOYAH brand. I know it will be a success both personally and for the community of Rocky River.”
Patel has signed up to open three locations in the greater Cleveland area, focusing on the western part of Cleveland for development. He intends to open his second location by the end of 2015.
“It’s a great time for the MOOYAH brand as we move into the Cleveland community, and Ohio for the first time,” said Michael Mabry, chief operating officer of MOOYAH. “MOOYAH is a great fit for Rocky River and we look forward to seeing the brand grow there and beyond.”
At MOOYAH, Guests have the advantage of choosing from a variety of bun options, such as baked in-house artisan white or multigrain wheat buns and hand-crafted lettuce buns to accompany the never-frozen 100 percent American beef patty, all-natural Jennie-O turkey patty or the mouthwatering black bean veggie patty. Each gourmet burger can be customized with five cheese, applewood smoked baked, sliced avocado, along with nine free veggie toppings and 11 free sauces.
MOOYAH French fries come together in a six-step process that takes a total of 24 hours to completely prepare. A delightful combination of constant attention and a little magic help transform U.S. #1 Idaho potatoes into perfect, crisp-on-the-outside and fluffy-on-the-inside fries. Guests also have the choice of savory sweet potato fries. Never one to forget dessert, MOOYAH offers real ice cream shakes, allowing Guests to choose from 10 flavors ranging from vanilla to Hershey’s chocolate to Reese’s to strawberry banana and more.
In 2015, MOOYAH is on pace to open 30 new locations and reach the milestone of 100 before the close of the year. The booming better burger brand is set to enter several new states in 2015, with the first MOOYAH restaurants in Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, and Florida scheduled to open this year. Additionally, the brand will increase their established presence in states including California, Texas, Illinois, and Louisiana, with five more scheduled openings in New Jersey alone. The brand continues to spread the unique MOOYAH experience beyond domestic borders too. MOOYAH will open their first restaurant in Qatar in 2015, marking the 7th country MOOYAH has entered outside the U.S.
