Tony Darden, President and Chief Operating Officer

What about MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes makes it unique within its industry?

Our food quality and Guest experience differentiates us within the industry. Our Certified Angus Beef®, hand-cut fries, real ice cream shakes with great hospitality and restaurant design that sets us apart and elevates our position in this competitive industry.

What plans does the brand have in the coming years?

I'm most excited about our new restaurant design. It's going to bring us to the next level with our Guests and Franchise Owners. We will begin rolling this out to new restaurants in early 2020 and remodeling existing locations throughout the year. We plan to have the new look and feel nationwide by the end of 2024. We are excited for the future and how this will help us grow in both existing and new markets.

Why is MOOYAH a good investment?

Our buildout costs is segment leading since average investment costs for other burger concepts are $1 million on the high end. We scruitinize every item in the buildout process without restricting our ability to create high-quality, beautiful and fun restaurants. We also have strong AUVs and an economic model engineered to deliver a strong ROI.

How does MOOYAH support franchisees?

From the moment a franchise agreement is signed, the MOO Crew Support Center begins working on site selection, lease negotiation and guidance through the construction process. We follow this with best-in-class training for the Franchise Owner as well as providing trainers to help in preparation for new restaurant openings. After opening, each Franchise Owner has a Operations Manager that conducts business reviews to provide continuing evaluation around operations and financials. Our marketing team supports each location before and after opening and provides local store marketing plans specific to the trade area.

What does an ideal franchisee look like?

The ideal MOOYAH franchisee is dedicated to the brand and a servant leader. The expectation is not necessarily that you have to work a shift every day but you have to be engaged in your business every day. You don’t have to have restaurant experience to be successful but you need leadership experience to be successful.

Our franchisees have strong leadership within the community and within the restaurant. We want people that are able and willing to follow a system but it’s just as important to us that someone is able and willing to question the system to make us better. We love when our Franchise Owners identify something that can strengthen our brand and we’re able to roll it out nationally.
