By: MATT DIAZ No, this is not a story about franchising; yes you need to keep reading! Motiply Partners, a Mobile Business Solutions (MBS) company based out of Madison, Wisconsin, is offering one of the lowest cost business opportunities we’ve seen available. Starting with a license fee of $200 a month, Motiply grants access to a mobile application platform to build mobile websites for businesses. Motiply is allowing users to quickly and inexpensively become part of the ever increasing industry of mobile commerce. “The status of the mobile industry is like that of the internet in the late 80’s and early 90’s,” says Roger Stapleton, CEO of CONEI, the holding company for Motiply. “These days it’s not just about making money, today you can’t do business without a solid internet presence. It’s become part of the very fabric of business and M-Commerce or mobile commerce is the new buzz word and the MBS market is changing businesses daily.” Currently, Motiply has 250 licensees with over 2,500 mobile sites created. Dealing with a number of international licensees, Motiply operates in seven languages and has the potential to easily add others according to Stapleton. “Two types of people primarily make up our licensees,” says Stapleton. “Those who are already involved with adding some sort of internet solutions to businesses; Motiply offers a great opportunity to add additional revenue streams. The second type of people is those who see the potential of MBS, but may not know exactly how to get started. Although the company has potential room for up to 500 more U.S. markets and 60 Canadian markets, Motiply isn’t just for anyone. According to Jim Borenitsch, Co-Founder and director of sales and marketing for Motiply, although the cost is low at $200 a month, the company’s success has been built on quality over quantity when it comes to licensees. “The biggest challenge for this business is sales and marketing skills; you have to be able to sell or have some ability to reach clients and sell your business,” says Borenitsch. Aligning themselves with sound business ideals, much like that of a successful franchise, and combined with one of the lowest costs around it is difficult to not be intrigued by Motiply. With the direction of the smartphone and mobile industries changing business as we know it, don’t be surprised to see more and more M-Commerce businesses pop up. So I challenge you, faithful readers of 1851, to find me a more effective low-cost business opportunity than Motiply and share your thoughts in the comments below.
