After spending time working with other franchisees, helping with online auctions and organizing estates, she realized this was work she truly cared about — and saw a future in. Now, she’s teaming up with her dad,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/justinrbeck?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=navy-vet-daughter-launch-caring-transitions-las-vegas-2729820" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Justin Beck</a>, a retired Navy veteran and former high school teacher, to launch their own&nbsp;<a href="https://1851franchise.com/caringtransitions/info">Caring Transitions</a> business in Southeast Las Vegas this July. For both of them, it’s a chance to build something meaningful together while supporting families through life’s toughest moments.1851 spoke with the Becks to learn more about their backgrounds, what drew them to the franchise and their plans for the future.&nbsp;1851: Frame your personal story for us. What do you want us to know?Erica Beck: I’ve actually worked for other Caring Transitions franchises in the past and that is what inspired me to start one of my own with my dad. I love the work and I already have knowledge on how it works in the day-to-day.1851: What did you do before franchising, and how did you decide franchising made sense for you?Erica: I was working as an e-commerce specialist for a while before Caring Transitions. My Caring Transitions experience gave me that experience. I was actually working at a bed and breakfast and after the busy season ended, I asked my boss what I could do next, and she introduced me to Caring Transitions. I was mostly doing online auctions, photography, listing, etc.Justin Beck: I’m a retired Navy veteran, where I spent 24 years. After that, I taught high school for nine years. I really enjoy helping people and I’ve been working with kids — I love making a difference in lives. My daughter Erica was working with CT, so I learned about it through her, and we decided it would be a great way to be successful together and go on the adventure as dad and daughter.1851: What made you pick this brand? What excites you most about this company?Erica: I had never really wanted to own a business, but the more I got experience in Caring Transitions, I knew I wanted to do something meaningful and make an impact beyond the typical 9 to 5. Talking with my dad, we were able to make it a reality.Justin: One thing is the fact that Caring Transitions is really set up for franchisees — you have a lot of support from other owners and the company itself. The investment also wasn’t crazy high.1851: What do you hope to achieve with your business? What are your plans for growth?Justin: We want to be the top franchisee here in Las Vegas — we want to represent the brand well in this community.
