Nantucket-born, better-for-you pizza brand Oath Pizza is coming to Connecticut. The fast-growing franchise will open its newest location in Blue Back Square, a high-traffic retail hub in West Hartford.

The 849-square-foot restaurant is scheduled to open in the spring and will be owned and operated by Oath Pizza’s corporate team.

“We’re thrilled Oath Pizza chose Blue Back Square as their first Connecticut location,” says Robyn Rifkin, General Manager of Blue Back Square. “We know the West Hartford community will embrace their unique culinary offerings,” she adds. “This is just one of the many exciting announcements coming to our center in 2022.”

Oath Pizza’s Director of Development, Tianna Alfieri, says the next opening is a testament to the company’s continued growth strength.

“We’ve been fortunate to grow from our small seaside shop to a nationwide presence with our proven and scalable business model,” she says. “Oath not only survived but thrived through the pandemic. We were able to tighten our prime costs and hone in on what makes locations successful. We are confident that the Blue Back Square opening will be another long-term success for us.”

Alfieri says Oath Pizza’s new West Hartford location will benefit from that strong brand recognition and the community-centric nature of their partners at Blue Back Square.

“We’ve seen significant buzz around this opening due to our strong brand awareness on the east coast as well,” says Alfieri. “Oath is built to succeed anywhere, but existing awareness and a strong local partner can be incredibly beneficial on opening day and beyond.”

The new location will be the first to feature the latest restaurant design and layout, a collaboration between Oath Pizza Brand and Digital Experience Director, Merissa Zaltzberg, and McMahon Architects, the Boston-based firm responsible for the build-outs of popular brands like Tatte Bakery and Saloniki. The brand refresh is part of a recent business transformation led by former Chipotle executives Stacie Colburn Hayes, Oath Pizza’s Chief Marketing Officer, and Oath’s President and CEO Drew Kellogg.

The cost to open an Oath Pizza franchise ranges from $380,000–$550,000, including a $30,000 franchise fee. For more information on franchising with Oath Pizza, visit oathpizza.com/franchise.
