Ice cream lovers in the Utica area could be getting their own Dairy Queen location as the company is looking for a partner who wants to be a franchisee.
Brand leaders like Jim Kerr, VP of franchise development are currently looking for partners to join the franchise system and help with development.
“We’d love to have local people,"Kerr told the Observer-Dispatch. "We do a lot of work with candidates that really aren’t from the food background. If they’ve been successful locally, business people, business families, tend to like to find something to add to their ownership."
The newer restaurants would all be part of the company’s Grill & Chill concept, which offers diners a broader menu and more comfortable dining environment than other locations.
Kerr said that if the brand is able to select a franchisee partner, Utica could see a new restaurant open in late 2017 or early 2018.
