People Are Using Google “Near Me” Searches to Choose Restaurants
The use of this Google Maps function has reportedly increased by over 200 percent.
Uberall, a digital location marketing platform, has reported on the use of Google’s “near me” function. According to a recent article in Fast Casual, the study found that finding nearby store locations was one of the top five uses for the function. 82 percent of participants in the report said that they have used the app for one of these searches. Amongst millennial participants, that proportion was higher, reaching 92 percent.
"For all the talk of mobile displacing brick-and-mortar shopping, our data finds that these devices are hugely supportive of in-store foot traffic. Checking hours and finding nearby locations were two of the most popular use cases from respondents," said Josha Benner, Co-founder of Uberall.
