QSR Magazine: Hungry Howie’s Giving Back for Breast Cancer Awareness

Hungry Howie’s is continuing to serve pizza with a purpose this year with their “Love, Hope & Pizza” campaign.

Hungry Howie’s has been very committed to supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. through raising money and spreading awareness since 2009. According to a recent QSR Magazine article, the brand is running its eight annual, “Love, Hope & Pizza” campaign for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Starting September 26 through the month of October, their signature pizzas will be served in pink boxes that have the NBCF logo. Hungry Howie’s will be donating a portion of every pizza sold to the charity, along with part of the proceeds from their chocolate Howie Brownie with pink raspberry sauce.

The brand is hoping that the campaign will go further than their pizza boxes and donations through social media. Customers are asked to spread awareness and their own breast cancer stories with the hashtag #lovehopepizza.

There are also additional ways to participate in stores. By purchasing a “Slice of Hope” pledge to add to the wall of the local Hungry Howie’s or buying Hungry Howie’s swag from the campaign. For customers who are ordering online, a donation to the cause can be added on at checkout.

“This campaign has become a huge part of the Hungry Howie’s culture. We are extremely pleased to have raised over $1.5 million for NBCF in our years of work on Love, Hope & Pizza and consider ourselves lucky to serve pizza with a purpose,” says Rob Elliott, executive vice president of marketing at Hungry Howie’s Pizza.
