New data from the U.S. Department of Labor showed that the restaurant industry added 27,300 jobs in March, according to a Restaurant Business report.

The data also found that food and drinking establishments employed 12.2 million people in March, and the overall economy added 196,000 jobs in March, according to the article.

The news comes as various fast food brands continue to get creative with their hiring practices. Taco Bell recently announced it will host more than 600 hiring parties later this month in an effort to find candidates. Last month, McDonald’s announced a partnership with augmented writing platform Textio to use the company’s AI technology to improve its hiring practices.
