Smoothie King Introduces Veggie Avocado Pineapple Smoothie

The limited time offer smoothie expands the brand's already popular Veggie Blends line

Hiding veggies among delicious fruit flavors is not just for kids. Smoothie King’s Veggie Blends line has already proven that with its blockbuster launch in Spring 2014, and Smoothie King is following it up with a limited time line extension bringing Veggie Avocado Pineapple to the mix as a delicious way to get your greens.

Smoothie King continues to innovate within the smoothie category with product offerings like veggie and vegan blends, ingredients like Greek yogurt, and seasonal favorites like pumpkin and dark chocolate. The new Veggie Avocado Pineapple LTO expands the brand’s popular line of smoothies which include carrots and/or kale in the ingredients to deliver upon Smoothie King’s mission to inspire people to live a healthy and active lifestyle. Davis Jaeger, Smoothie King’s food scientist and product development manager, said this new smoothie not only elevates the menu but also customers’ drive to be healthier.

“Green smoothies are very popular right now, and we wanted to add our own unique version of that to our popular Veggie Blends line. By blending vegetables with delicious fruits and healthy avocados, we are supplying our guests with a smoothie that gives them nutrients and veggies,” Jaeger said

The smoothie will include pineapple, avocado, kale, carrots, vanilla protein and non-fat frozen yogurt. The Veggie Avocado Pineapple Smoothie is an excellent source of fiber, is high in vitamins A, C, iron and potassium and is a good source of protein and calcium. The LTO smoothie is another addition to Smoothie King’s successful Veggie Blends line, which also includes the Berry Carrot Dream, Apple Kiwi Kale and Carrot Kale Dream smoothies.

What makes this delectable offering different from other avocado-based smoothies are the specific avocados the brand uses. Jaeger explained the brand is using Haas avocados, which have a more buttery texture and make smoothies easier to blend. Haas avocados stay on trees longer, helping them accumulate more healthy fat and omegas. He said Smoothie King vetted several suppliers to make sure the brand is using the best avocados on the market.

Jaeger went on to say that LTOs are a great opportunity for the brand to try new things. He said the Veggie Avocado Pineapple smoothie allows the brand to branch out with new flavors while sticking to its core mission of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for consumers.

“LTOs are a really great strategy for us because it allows us to stay relevant with new and exciting health and wellness trends and ingredients while maintaining our defined, successful menu.” Jaeger said. “It’s this commitment to providing the highest quality ingredients that makes the brand stand out in the industry.”
