The Best Franchisee Incentives and Discounts for 2023

As franchisors take on 2023, many are offering remarkable discounts and incentives in an effort to have an even stronger growth year. Here are the ones you should keep an eye on.

As many franchise systems have started to find recovery from the pandemic and supply-chain-related challenges, 2023 is looking like a great year for growth pushes. There are lots of “little boosts” available in the franchising space to either make ownership more accessible or reward owners who do great work. These brands are offering some of the most attractive franchisee incentives and rewards.

Sylvan Learning*: Teacher Incentive

Sylvan Learning is the leading provider of supplemental and enrichment education for K–12 students. After years of learning disruption caused by the pandemic, students nationwide are falling behind, and families are seeking additional support. With incredible demand available, Sylvan is offering a franchise fee of just $12,500a discount of more than $20,000 off its standard fee—exclusively for franchisees coming from the education space.

“Now more than ever, teachers are exploring business ownership opportunities backed with national clout, and we want to help make that dream a reality,” said CEO John McAuliffe. “Our hope is this discount breaks down some of the financial barriers to ownership and opens the door for the endless growth potential and community impact franchise owners have with Sylvan Learning.”

Wienerschnitzel: Hot Dogs for Profits

Wienerschnitzel, the global hot dog giant, announced its Hot Dogs for Profits initiative earlier this year. As it takes on a year of growth, the franchisor is offering well-qualified candidates an option to sign a three-unit deal with a $64,000 development and franchise fee for all three units. The incentive also includes “reduced royalties that begin at one percent for the first year, then increase to two percent, three percent, four percent, and five percent for year five and beyond,” the release says.

The incentive also includes $20,000 in direct marketing spend for the first store, courtesy of Galardi Group Inc., and the inclusion of a $5,000 owner or general manager training fee for all three locations.

“2023 is projected to be a banner year for Wienerschnitzel in terms of franchise growth and development, and we are beyond excited to usher in what is expected to be a history-making year for the brand,” J.R. Galardi, president and CEO of Galardi Group Inc., said in the release. “As we buckle up for a busy 2023, we are immensely proud of our advancements that continue to streamline our operations and profitability model for our dedicated franchisees.”

TaKorean: Veteran Discount

TaKorean is a Korean taco grill concept that offers fresh, colorful, build-your-own meals. Last year, in honor of Veteran’s Day, it announced a major discount on the franchise fee, slashing the amount in half. The discount is continuing through 2023, allowing veterans with an interest in business ownership the ability to take on entrepreneurship at a more affordable cost.

“There are skills and character traits associated with veterans that inherently make them a good fit for the franchise model,” said Mike Lenard, CEO of TaKorean. “They have experience following protocol, perfecting processes and working as part of a true team—all things TaKorean owners, leaders and staff do each day.”

Strategic Franchising Systems: The Winner’s Circle

Strategic Franchising, the parent franchisor to Fresh Coat*Pet WantsThe Growth CoachCaring Transitions and TruBlue Total House Care, has launched The Winner’s Circle, a financial incentive to reward franchisees for meeting and exceeding revenue goals.

“If you look at Strategic Franchising, what we really specialize in is business ownership for all,” Chris Seman, president of Strategic Franchising Solutions, told FranchiseTimes. “Our concepts are designed for the average middle-class person. You don’t need a million dollars to launch a business.”

The Winner’s Circle allows franchisees to establish revenue goals during the first four to give years of business. As these goals are reached, the franchisor rebates part of the initial franchise fee.

WIN Home Inspection: Veteran and First Responder Discount

WIN Home Inspection is a 30-year-old home inspection concept that has grown to include 270 locations across 45 states. This year, the franchisor is offering a 20% discount on its franchise fee, which can range from $25,520 to $31,900, to veterans and first responders.

“While WIN Home Inspection has the lowest start-up cost and largest support team, offering a 20% discount on the initial franchise fee to our veterans and first responders is the WIN way of expressing our immense gratitude to them for their service and sacrifice,” explained Praful Mittal, CEO. “We seek entrepreneurs who are excited to grow a business while helping others and are willing to learn an extensive playbook in a disciplined manner. Moreover, veterans and first responders have a heart for service and are inspired by mission and purpose, making WIN a great fit for their post-service careers.”

Other Veteran Discounts

Veterans have long been recognized as great franchisees. Because of their military experience, they are well-equipped to follow a plan and likely have experience in scenarios that require them to see that plan through, regardless of outside circumstances. As such, many franchisors offer evergreen discounts to veterans who are looking to become business owners.
