If you have ever found yourself asking, when should I tweet? What days should I be posting on LinkedIn? Should I be focusing my Instagram efforts during work hours or after? Then we have the Holy Grail of social media posting for you. OK, not really. But, we have found a helpful guide from Quick Sprout that has helped identify when the best days and times are to post for brands on each social platform. While this guide is not the end-all be-all  to the best days and times to post per platform for every brand, it should give you and your brand a guide to help increase engagement and interaction on your posts. This infographic identifies when visitors and followers are online and interacting with each social platform. The key is being active and present when your fans are online and open to seeing updates and notifications from your brand. Here are a few things to keep in mind when scheduling your posts:
  • Focus your Facebook efforts toward the end of the work week. This is when the “Happiness Index” on Facebook spikes by 10 percent and your fans are more likely to be starting their weekend early by looking on Facebook.
  • If you want to see the highest click-through rate on Twitter, aim to tweet at noon and 6 p.m.  This is when Twitter followers are enjoying their lunch breaks and are commuting home after work.
  • For LinkedIn, regular business hours are the best time to focus your social efforts. This is mainly because LinkedIn is a B2B platform and the target audience is online when you are.
To see the full effects of targeting your social efforts, try running a social posting test around these times to see how your individual audience reacts. You may find that by tweaking your social posting strategy, you will find a better return on your social efforts.
